5Great decision!
By rebecca
The desk came really fast and is holding up really well. It is terrific quality and not to hard to set up, either! It is perfect for my new remodeled room, there is plenty of desk and drawer space, and the color matches everything! It was exactly as I thought it would be, if not better. I love it!

2Missing parts, Long Assembly, Poor Directions
By Ben Varone
I bought this product recently, and having built a lot of furniture from Ikea and other places, I thought this one would be no biggie. Well, the first thing I noticed was that there were a lot of parts, and a power drill is pretty much a requirement unless you have 3-4 hours to kill. The directions are also decently complex, so I wouldn't recommend it for your first attempt at building furniture. My unit in particular was missing all 4 small cams, which also weren't on the parts list for the directions, so you can't order more of them through Prepac's automated system. As a consequence, I now have to try and call them after work, but I received the package on a Thursday so I'm probably stuck for a week or more unless I can find some 12 or 13 mm metal cams just lying around somewhere (yeah right). After getting my purchase, I now have a partially complete, impossible to assemble piece of furniture in my office for an indefinite period of time.

Thanks Prepac, your poor quality control cost me almost an entire evening, and I still don't have my desk built.

1If you must buy this desk, don't buy it from VisionDecor
By jy
It's not a bad desk, for what it is. The color is okay and it's not as cheap-looking as many plastic-veneered pieces of furniture. It's probably worth the price in that respect. My issue is with VisionDecor, the Amazon retailer from whom I bought it.
When the box arrived it was immediately apparent that the contents were poorly packed. The box was sealed with two different kinds of cheap packing tape instead of being stapled. And the tape was barely hanging on. Additionally, the side bulged. When I opened it up the cause of the bulge was obvious: the pieces appeared to be pretty much thrown into the box with no rhyme or reason. I soon realized that there were no assembly instructions included, and the front right corner of the desk itself was badly bent and looked like it had gotten wet and dried at some point. It was pretty clear to me that someone had returned it and VisionDecor hadn't even opened the box to check the contents. Either that, or checked and didn't care about reselling the damaged, incomplete, and poorly packed product.
To be honest, I haven't contacted the vendor for redress. If it were only a missing instruction sheet, I would have, and would have calmly waited for VisionDecor to send it to me. But it looks to me from the VisionDecor web site like I would have to pay approximately eighty dollars to ship the desk back, plus a "restocking" fee of twenty percent. Since I'd also be out the eighty dollars I originally paid for shipping, the round-trip shipping alone would be more than I paid for the desk itself. It's not worth either the hassle of convincing the company to pay for return shipping or the expense of paying it myself. I've decided to absorb the $200 or so that I've already paid and discard the desk. Plus, I figure that by doing so I'm probably saving someone else the irritation of receiving damaged goods.
