Simple and accessible, this 31-inch high desk from South Shore Furniture’s Gascony Collection adapts for all sizes of computer monitors and fits easily into most interiors. The desk provides plenty of storage under its 1-inch thick desktop. Upon facing the desk, the right side of the unit offers three storage options: an open compartment, a small utility drawer, and a file drawer. The container section of the desk rests on its end panels while horizontal arches add some flourish. Stylish rectangular metal handles allow the user to open the drawers, which roll smoothly along patented metal slides with safety stops. Below the desk’s surface on the left, the same slide tracks find employment with the pull-out keyboard and mouse tray. The left portion of the desk also provides a fixed shelf between the left end panel and the stacked storage compartments, which is useful for storing manuals, reference books, and more, while an included back panel can be mounted to support the shelf’s items. By placing the panel so, one creates an open space behind the keyboard tray to allow discrete and easy passage of computer cables to connect the various desktop computer parts to one another and to a power source. The Environmentally Preferred Product (EPP) certified desk is crafted out of engineered wood and recycled fiber, with a luscious regal cherry finish. To clean the desk, wipe with a damp cloth and avoid ammonia-based cleaning products which cause the finish to deteriorate and fade. Not bad for the price

The desk came well packaged, the external protection was a bit beat up, but nothing in the box was harmed. Two hours plus to put it together, and the instructions are a bit difficult to follow, but can be figured out. No real wood in the desk, and the drawer bottoms are cardboard, but are pretty sturdy. As long as I don't spill water in them, they should be OK. The drawers are on very smooth glides, and the assembled desk looks very nice. The package includes some extra parts and a touch-up pen. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend it to a friend.

Front is nice... back completely Unfinished

This is a very nice desk when you look at it from the front, but when you turn is around it is completely unfinished. If you buying this desk you HAVE to place it against a wall other wise the unfinished ugly part will face everyone that comes in front.

There is a reason why you can only see the front of the desk in the picture and not the back.

The wood covered surface can be easily scratched, I suggest using a glass on top of this desk if you want to keep it looking nice for a while.

Outstanding Value

This desk takes a little time and patience to assemble. However, in the end this is a fine looking piece of furniture. All parts were included, adequate instructions, good shipping protection and excellent hinges on the doors. Drawers fit and slide nicely. Highly recommended.
