55 stars for well-made product...
By Pamela Smith
Really nice looking desk with hutch.
Shipped in two packages with curbside delivery.
My husband did the assembly work and said that the instructions were clear and all the pieces fit amazingly well together. The project took about 5 hours to complete and required two screw drivers (phillips and flat) and a hammer. Follow the directions step-by-step and take your time.
***His advice concerning tightening the "hidden cams." Overdoing will cause the particle board to break up---under doing will lead to instability. Make each one very snug but don't over-tighten. Don't just turn 210 degrees. Each hole is slightly different and may require fewer degrees to achieve the correct expansion of the cam dowel***
We have an iMac so he made two shelves in the section designated for the CPU giving us more space for letter-size folders/portfolios and assorted papers.
I plan to get a desk pad to prevent the keyboard from scruffing the surface of the shelf. (Happened to the old one after years of use). We also bought different hardware for the drawers. Holes in the front panels were pre-cut so we just puttied them in.
Very satisfied with this purchase.

4An Economy Desk that Looks Beautiful
By kone
This is my second Sauder large wood computer desk. With some careful care, I think I can make this one last longer than the previous one (7 years)

The product comes in a large heavy cardboard box. Carefully unpack the box and make sure you have every part before you begin. It is not hard to put together, but it takes some time (perhaps 2-4 hours depending on your personal level of do-it-yourself skill). It helps to have a partner assemble it with you.

The end product looks tremendous. It is a fully functional computer desk with enough space for a large flat screen monitor. The computer sits in the bottom right cubby. A printer can either be placed on the top shelf or in the large space to the right of the screen. The two file cabinets are for hanging-type files. They seem sturdy and are easy to open and close. There are no locks on the file drawers. The backing is made of cheap simulated wood-grain cardboard. It is easy to dent. It is nailed to the supports of the desk.

Now thie important part - to make this desk last, DO NOT put any drinking glases of any kind on the desk! This is simulated wood, and it will not sustain water sitting on it for even a short while. A perspiring cup of whatever will cause the grain to raise and warp. The damage cannot be repaired. Therefore, get a clear flexible desk protector for both the desk area and perhaps on the pull-out keyboard shelf. Artistic Its Perfectly Clear!T Desk Pad, 19 X 24, Clear" (AOP6040S)These will protect the desk and keyboard shelf from inadvertent spills, sweaty hands, and the usual bumps and nicks that all furniture sustains. The desk can be dusted with a rag sprayed with dusting spray. Do not spray directly unto the desk! Wipe and dry.

Over a period of time, the desk will likely suffer some cosmetic damage - after all, it is a cheap wood/glue combination with a nice veneer. Nicks and scratches can be tinted with some appropriate wood stain.

My only complaint with this desk is that it does not have a pull-out drawer, as my previous model did. I liked that feature.

This is definitely an economy desk. A comparable real-wood desk would cost many hundreds of dollars more. With a little care and some tender loving treatment, this desk will add a touch of beauty and functionality to any home office area.

5Best desk ever...
By J. DiGiovanna
This desk is the highest quality peice of furniture I have ever put together out of a box. The instructions were clear and precise and the peices fit together perfectly. The price was right and I love using this desk on a daily basis.
