This is a two-tiered desk. The top tier is so larger that it leaves no room to work on the surface of the main desk. There's room for a computer keyboard and that's it. Fine, but no room for a laptop. Not even enough room to open a book or to write on a single sheet of paper. We removed the top tier and fastened it to the wall as a shelf in order to save some utility out of this product.
