Bush Tacoma Corner Wood Computer Desk in Harvest Cherry

To be honest my husband and I were a little disappointed with this desk. It looks nice once it is put together; however it is built from compressed wood and veneer facing. If I were to see this desk in stores, I would not have paid more than $75 for it. I am not high maintenance when it comes to products so my expectations are not unrealistic, but for the price I feel it is lacking in quality. The packaging that the desk arrived in was all intact, but there were a few minor scratches and chipped corners due to the lack of interior packaging. I normally do not write reviews for products, but since the quality of the desk was nowhere near what the picture and description describes, I felt the need to do so.

Not worth the money...

I was looking for a desk for my living room and I wanted something that looked nice. I paid more than what I was planning because I really liked the look of this desk and thought it would be worth it. I was wrong.
I should have listened to the previous reviewer who stated she would not have paid more than $75 if she would have seen it in a store.

Pros:
It is easy to put together, I did it myself. Although I wish I would have used an electric screwdriver. Doing it by hand left me bruised and blistered!
It is pretty.

Cons:
A couple of pieces came damaged, (and they were in the middle of the box, so I'm assuming it happened before packaging!)
The instructions said to flip the desk top over to attach the base to it. I followed the instructions. When I was finished and flipped it back over, I noticed that it had some very obvious scratches on the top of the desk. Not like a dent, it took the laminate off! Apparently I had something on my hardwood floor that had scratched the wood while I was installing the base. (I had JUST vacuumed, so it's not like my floors were really dirty!)
I noticed I could run my fingernail across the wood and it would leave a mark! That is not acceptable!!
The base at the bottom is not sturdy enough. There is no support underneath, and since it is not real wood, it bows slightly if you put weight on it. Not good for me, since my young children use this desk and it is right where their feet hang. It won't be long before they push down on it and it snaps.
Also, it should be noted that the top shelf of the desk needs to be mounted to the back of the desk by the middle piece of wood under the monitor in the picture. This makes the shelf stick out further then the edges of the desk and makes it so the base of the desk does not fit flush against the corner (at least where I put it in our house!) I wound up not even using the top of the desk due to that fact AND the fact that it only mounts in the middle (the two polls on the side don't mount to the desk) and I was worried my kids might mess around with it and loosen the brackets in the back causing my iMac to fall to the floor. I couldn't risk this, as I LOVE my iMac. :)

The desk does look nice, but if I would have bought it in a local store, I would have taken it back, most definitely! This desk is too cheaply made to be priced at over $200!!
Honestly, this desk made me cry. I know that is totally lame, but I was so excited to get it and was so disappointed with the outcome. I had to come on here and leave a review because I couldn't understand how people could give this desk five stars!!

Looks great except for shipping damage

This product looks absolutely great and was very easy to piece together by following the directions. My only complaint is with the shipping. The box was ripped open in several locations as if it had been dropped or had large items dropped on it. There is damage to the large center table top and to the upper shelf which holds the monitor. Each of the corners have large chips where the laminate was torn of and is showing the particle wood underneath. Rather than return the large bulky item I decided to keep it and will be touching up the damaged corners with some wood stain markers. If it weren't for the damage during shipping I would have given this product a perfect score.
